Magda White slab selection for Qantas Lounge, Heathrow

July 17th, 2017 in Slab inspection

The Australian architects Woods Bagot recently specified our Magda White Marble for the new Premium Lounge at Heathrow that will open ready to service passengers flying one of the new direct flights to Perth from London.

There are tiles 120x80x2cm for the floor plus lots of bespoke bar tops/fronts and food service areas clad in Magda White. The Magda White is a durable marble but aesthetically very delicate.

Subtle pastel coloured veins run across the creamy white background. A much more relaxed look when compared to the Statuario and Calacatta type of white marble and it seems to be very popular right now.

We stock 2cm honed slabs in Verona and the architect recently visited with the fixing company and main contractor to choose the slabs. This didn’t take too long as all the slabs we had were exceptional quality and from two similar blocks. The architect had brought the original sample to the inspection and was identical so that was a nice bonus.
