New material inspection - Anthracite Limestone
February 3rd, 2016 in Factory Visits, New Stone, Site visit
A recent trip to Castelon, Spain was to inspect a small order but important as the first order we have for our new black limestone called Anthracite.
For this project the architect specifically wanted a good slip resistance but to retain the colour and clean ability of the floor the final decision was for the flamed and brushed option. Not too rugged and outdoor looking, slightly more refined. From a distance the appearance is monolithic and the anti-slip surface looks remarkably smooth. The occasional thin white vein and swirly marking could be seen but nothing to worry about or that detracts from the overall aesthetic. This stone is going to be a winner. Also frost resistant for external applications.
