In addition to Bronze Passion and Alpine White. We also specified and subsequently supplied the stone required for the ballroom. We suggested Crema Di Carpi and Mira Black as good alternatives to the more oft used combination of Crema Marfil and Emperador from Spain.

Bronze Passion, a relatively new addition to our range, was specified by Richmond International for flooring areas in Adare Manor.

We received an inquiry from Vladimir Djurovic of VDLA early last year to ask for help with an exciting and challenging new project in London. The AKDN in Kings Cross, consisted of a number of gardens. Each garden was to give the feeling and aesthetic of a particular part of the world.

We worked with W.B. Simpson & Sons Specialist Contractors, Studiolise Designers and Simon Morray Jones Architects on this exciting residential project in West London. A stunning showcase of our material inside and out. The focus for us was on finding the right material for the pool area in the new and expansive basement. This huge space was to house the gym, swimming pool and plunge pool, changing area and bathrooms.

We were asked by Barr Gazettas to recommend natural stone materials for the redevelopment of a Grade II listed building as part of the Crown Estate’s Quadrant scheme off Regent Street.

This months we visited our suppliers quarry and factory near Catania in Sicily. We have an order for 200sqm 600x600x10mm honed tiles and thought it a good time to pop over to see the production.

I always worry a bit when we are ordering large format (ish) tiles in 10mm in a product that may not normally be associated with that particular thickness/format. In this instance the tiles were prepared by firstly trimming the block to a handleable shape and size using a wire saw. Then a large disk was used to cut the strips (not much wider than the 600mm width we needed) that were subsequently honed on a polishing line and finally cut to size on a bridge saw.

Last week we visited the Petra Alba quarry in Rapolano, Tuscany to inspect blocks and sawn slabs for our Baku project prior to being shipped to Verona to be finished.

This week we visited Verona to inspect the first few containers of our PETRA ALBA Travertine being loaded and shipped to Baku to be used as column cladding and flooring in the new Trump Tower. Approximately 3000sqm of 2cm (floor) and 3cm (wall) have to be prepared and shipped in just 6 weeks.
