    We have just returned from a successful trip to Turkey and more specifically to the factory of our Alpine White supplier. With the winter closing in quickly quarries in the area will close soon and remain closed for months, possibly until March. So to see a fantastic block of slabs cut, polished and ready to ship was a good result.

    New Embassy dry lay inspection

    We are currently supplying around 1000sqm 50mm Pietra Del Mare Limestone to clad the New Embassy in London. The specification started 3-4 years ago with Dunston Limestone from Lincoln. This ideal material swiftly progressed to a French alternative to accommodate the sizes and quantity required. However the French limestone from Metz was from an aggregate quarry and the colour changed considerably over the period of specification and by the time the stone was needed we had to find something else! Another search and another solution. This time it was Pietra Del Mare.  A limestone supplied by Grassi Pietre in Vicenza. This was not a million miles away from the original spec both in colour and structure and very consistent too.

    Schroders London Wall quarry inspection

    This week we took a trip the incredible quarry of Grigio Perla . With orders being placed imminently for the exciting Schroders London Wall project we thought it good to take a quick trip out to see the current extraction and discuss the project in more detail. The quarry (working since 1897) and factory have got to be in one of the most unique settings with views across Lago d’iseo The factory building is in typical 1950’s style and the quarrying now inside the mountain. So nothing really upsets these unusually tranquil surroundings.

    ANZ Bank (New Zealand) inspection of equilateral triangles

    We supplied 1000sqm 600mm equilateral triangles in the very best Carrara CD from the Campanili quarry via a competent factory we often use in Verona. This was to be for the reception floor and was all cut using water-jet technology. In addition to this we supplied matching equilateral triangle mosaic, a mini version of the floor pattern to the clad columns in the space.
