    West London residential installation

A stunning showcase of our material inside and out. The focus for us was on finding the right material for the pool area in the new and expansive basement. This huge space was to house the gym, swimming pool and plunge pool, changing area and bathrooms.

    Etna Basalt Quarry Visit

    This months we visited our suppliers quarry and factory near Catania in Sicily. We have an order for 200sqm 600x600x10mm honed tiles and thought it a good time to pop over to see the production.

    I always worry a bit when we are ordering large format (ish) tiles in 10mm in a product that may not normally be associated with that particular thickness/format. In this instance the tiles were prepared by firstly trimming the block to a handleable shape and size using a wire saw. Then a large disk was used to cut the strips (not much wider than the 600mm width we needed) that were subsequently honed on a polishing line and finally cut to size on a bridge saw.

    Trump Tower Baku - Petra Alba Quarry Visit

    Trump Tower Baku - Petra Alba Travertine

    This week we visited Verona to inspect the first few containers of our PETRA ALBA Travertine being loaded and shipped to Baku to be used as column cladding and flooring in the new Trump Tower. Approximately 3000sqm of 2cm (floor) and 3cm (wall) have to be prepared and shipped in just 6 weeks.

    Flint Flamed Limestone - Number One Ludgate

    This month I visited a factory near Barcelona to check the production of the roof terrace stone destined for the Ludgate Hill project in London. The factory were preparing 500sqm 600x300x30mm flamed Flint Limestone tiles. Fletcher Priest had specified the product and the tiles were to be suspended on pedestals externally.
